Is Buying a Stand Mixer Worth it?

If you are into baking you might already be aware of the stand mixer. It resembles the huge mixers you see in bakeries and places where bread is made. What differentiates a stand mixer from an electric mixer is that it can whip large quantities of ingredients for a long time at the speed you want and on top of that the whole operation is hands free. At the base of a stand mixer is a heavy duty rotating motor. A classic stand mixer can mix, whip and knead. Since the design of the stand mixer is around a centralized motor, various other attachments can be used on the same mechanism, like the most popular KitchenAid stand mixer accessories and attachments can be used for shredding meat, rolling pasta, churning ice creams etc.

If your hobby is baking or you want to run a food business, then there are no two ways about it. You will need a stand mixer or probably already have one. But for a layman, a stand mixer is heavy, requires a lot of space and is costly. So what are the benefits of a stand mixer?  In this blog, we look at the most popular and classic stand mixer brand KitchenAid to determine if a stand mixer is worth buying.

Various sizes

If counter space and cupboard space is the problem you can find mini sizes in most brands, like KitchenAid’s Artisan mini tilt-head stand mixer that is 3-4 litres in capacity. It has all the features of the classic tilt head stand mixer only that the size of the bowl and power of the motor is smaller and it is also cheaper.

Built to last

If you go to any forum or review pages you will find that stand mixers from a brand like KitchenAid are popular even when they are costly as they are built to last. They are also easily repairable. They have a beautiful retro design and come in various colours. The bowls too are available in stainless steel and glass variants. This is why they are great as wedding gifts and as family heirlooms. And you will find that KitchenAid makes their mixer attachments in such a way that they can be used on any model of the stand mixer, be it 30 years old.

Different attachments and accessories available

Even if you are not baking on a regular basis the different attachment for meat shredding,  dough making and pasta cutting can make the price reasonable. Obviously the various speed settings and the built quality of the stand mixer and the motor makes whisking, paddling and kneading that much better. So when buying a stand mixer the quote stands: ‘you get what you pay for’.

Buy a KitchenAid Stand mixer

So with all the benefits, a stand mixer could be worth buying for your kitchen in the long run. If you check reviews and look at any popular food blog you will find people raving about KitchenAid so much that it has become part of the popular culture. Depending on your requirements, you can buy a stand mixer with your preferred bowl size and motor horsepower. KitchenAid stand mixers start from 250 watts from the Classic series to 1.3 hp for the pro line. So there is a stand mixer for everyone.

3 KitchenAid Stand Mixer Accessories You Should Check Out

Stand mixers are a great asset for any household or commercial kitchen. From shredding veggies, cutting pasta sheets to grating cheese, stand mixers do the tedious jobs, so that you can continue working on your dish effortlessly and effectively. Among stand mixers, the KitchenAid stand mixers are heavyweights, and the range of KitchenAid Stand Mixer accessories make the mixer even better by helping you take on a variety of cooking tasks. Continuing on the topic, we bring you three vital KitchenAid Stand Mixer accessories that you should check out. Enjoy!

  1. Dough Hook

The KitchenAid stainless steel dough hook gives your flour dough the necessary consistency that breads require to have the iconic fluff during the baking process. Traditionally, doughs have been kneaded with bare hands, but this can be messy and cumbersome if you are running short on time. Not anymore, attach the dough hook to the stand mixer and let it do all the dough beating. This KitchenAid accessory is great for preparing dough when cooking a large batch.

  1. Mixer Whisk

Have you ever seen how delicious the omelette looks on TV cooking shows? With bright colours, and perfect texture, it instantly makes us drool. But how do they do it? The answer lies in the whipping process. A mixer whisk or a whip is used to aerate ingredients to give them a fluffy texture. From making fluffy omelettes to giving the ice-creams their trademark consistency, you can add a tint of perfection to your dishes with the KitchenAid Mixer Whisk accessory.

  1. Paddle Attachment

The KitchenAid Stand Mixer Paddle Attachment or simply the flat beater is probably one of the best tools in the KitchenAid accessories armoury you can deploy to mix heavy and thick mixtures such as mashed potatoes, frostings, and cake and cookie dough. If you think what’s the big deal here, anyone can do it, then you’re wrong. Mixing thick batters is no joke, it drains all the energy from your forearms, and is time-consuming. Make your life easy and mess free the KitchenAid stand mixer paddle attachment.

Conclusion

4 Factors to Consider when Buying a Blender

Blender is one of the best kitchen appliances, which makes food preparation easy and can cut your preparation time in the kitchen. Chopping vegetables and grinding spices becomes quite easy to complete when you are using a blender. Buying a blender requires research and a few considerations to make sure you get the right appliance within your budget. There are many online platforms that offer a wide range of blenders, some with basic functions and others with advanced functions. Continuing on the subject, in this blog, we share four factors to consider when buying a blender. Read on.

  1. The quality of blades

When buying a blender, the first to consider is the blades. The quality of the blades on the blender determines its performance. You should check and make sure that the blades are made from stainless steel and they have a diamond cut. While stainless steel blades are durable and easy to clean, diamond cut blades can easily grind and blend food items in no time.

  1. The material of the container

Secondly, the material of the container is another important factor you should consider. Considering the type of material used to make the container will help you to avoid consuming harmful chemicals. It is highly recommended to opt for a polycarbonate glass container over plastic. Polycarbonate glass container is BPA free, and it is strong enough that it won't break easily.

  1. Capacity of the container

Check for the capacity of the containers on your blender. Blenders come with a container that has different capacities generally ranging from 0.2 liters to 2 liters. It will be a wise decision to go for a container with a higher capacity. Having a higher capacity container makes it easy to chop, grind, and mix food items at one go.

  1. The speed of the blender

The operational speed of the blender is another important factor to consider. High-speed blenders can handle certain tasks that other blenders can not handle. In no time, you can easily make almond milk, grind spices, or smoothies when you are running short of time.

The Final word

The above-listed factors will help you to choose the right blender for your use. Search online for a reputable platform that offers a range of blenders and other kitchen appliances. Investing in quality products from renowned manufacturers such as the KitchenAid’s Artisan Power Plus Blender helps ensure that you get the best value for your money.
